Charity Tilleman-Dick: Singing after a double lung transplant | Video on TED.com

I found this to be very inspirational (no pun intended). The bit at the end when she sings is incredibly moving.

One interesting point; when she talks about her reluctance to have the lung transplant, she said something like, “I’ve spent a lifetime training my lungs – so I don’t want to give them up.”

Not entirely accurate.  What she had been training all those years was her whole body – including her brain – to coordinate in the act of singing. The surgery just gave her an undamaged set of airbags for her breathing muscles to move.
